Catholic League Slams Rolling Stone for ‘New Low in Yellow Journalism’

The Catholic League issued an extended commentary this week lambasting a recent article (9/15/11) in Rolling Stone magazine that purported to chronicle the abuse narrative in Philadelphia.

The Catholic League president, Dr. Bill Donohue, cited the magazine's author, Sabrina Rubin Erdely, for a "new low in yellow journalism." He then chronicled a number of falsehoods and misleading passages from Erdely.

Donohue concluded,

Rolling Stone should stick to what it does best, reporting on music and the entertainment business, and leave issues like religion to those who are better suited to address it. Serious journalism is the work of serious journalists. It should be clear by now that Sabrina Rubin Erdely is not among them.

Amen.

Check it out.
