Stunner: New Hampshire Judge Says 2003 Diocese of Manchester Grand Jury Report Never Should Have Been Released

Judge Richard B. McNamara : New Hampshire

Finally telling the truth about grand jury reports:
New Hamsphire Superior Court Judge Richard McNamara

For over a dozen years now, publicity-seeking district attorneys across the country have been bombarding the public with phony "grand jury reports" about alleged misdeeds committed by the Catholic Church many decades ago. Indeed, as our reporting has thoroughly uncovered, these reports are a marriage of hysteria and defamation, as they have falsely accused innocent priests.

Now writing that grand jury reports are often built upon "half-truths, illegally seized evidence, rumor, innuendo, [and] hearsay," New Hampshire Superior Court Judge Richard B. McNamara has refused to allow a prosecutor to release a report based on recent grand jury proceedings about alleged abuse committed years ago at a wealthy boarding school.

But most remarkably, in issuing his order (pdf) regarding the boarding school, McNamara also stated that a previous judge from years ago never should have allowed the release of a similar grand jury report that was widely publicized about the Diocese of Manchester (NH) back in 2003.

The truth about grand jury reports

In his order, Judge McNamara wrote that the original purpose of grand juries – to recommend whether or not an alleged crime should be prosecuted – has long been lost, and an individual's reputation can be irreparably tarnished. "If a report is promulgated, the accused may have no remedy at all, even if the accsuations are demonstrably false," McNamara wrote. He also added:

"Mark Twain famously said that a lie is halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes. In an internet age, he might have added that the lie will forever outrun the truth as search engines become ever more efficient."

Rev Gordon MacRae : priest : 2011

Indeed, one individual who would wholeheartedly agree with McNamara is Rev. Gordon J. MacRae, who currently sits in the New Hampshire State Prison for Men in Concord, NH, serving 33-to-67 years for abuse crimes that almost no doubt never occured.

In the early 1990s, prosecutors offered a plea bargain in which MacRae would serve a mere two-to-three years in exchange for a guilty plea. He refused, and MacRae has been in prison for a full quarter of a century for not confessing to crimes that he says never happened.

MacRae was one of the subjects of that 2003 report, and he was completely unable to rebut any of the claims in the report which he says are outright false. Meanwhile, since the release of the phony report some people have used hearsay statements in the report to claim he is guilty.

[Please see our **Exclusive Report on the case of Fr. MacRae from 2012**]

The time is long overdue for the public to finally realize the truth about all of these "grand jury reports." Justice demands it.

Kudos to Judge McNamara.

  1. Well done, David.  A stunner indeed!  I just finished reading the judge's 23-page Order.  It is quite an education in clear and fair jurisprudence.  It is noteworthy that the current  Attorney-General for the State of New Hampshire was an attorney for the Diocese of Manchester in 2003 when a deal was struck by Bishop John McCormack and his Chief Compliance Officer, Father Edward Arsenault (now a convicted felon) to sell their priests down the river in exchange for only God knows what.  It is also noteworthy that the current Bishop of Manchester, Peter Libasci, voluntarily released a list of  names of 62 accused priests, most of them dead, just a week before this judge's Order was signed.  I have written some other aspects of this story, but before I knew about this judge's Order.  Your readers may be interested in this: http://thesestonewalls.com/gordon-macrae/in-the-diocese-of-manchester-transparency-and-a-hit-list/

Ryan, on August 26, 2019 you stated regarding Fr. Gordon MacRae, "Some think he is a more effective priest in prison than many out here in the real world." I believe many of your priests would be more effective in prison than "out here in the real world". Too bad the Church didn't pursue that with all it's pedophiles, pederasts and porn perverts, rather than paying off settlements and coddling the perverts. This would have helped make the "real world" a safer place for our children, especially for the young boys the priests and bishops preferred to molest.

Also, for all you catholics blaming the bishops for the poor way they handled priest's cases, don't forget that they are your own leaders. Doesn't say much for the leadership of your false Church, now does it. This is easier than shooting dead fish in a barrel.  servant of the Lord

      Dan,

Ryan is correct, as Jesus stated in Matthew 25:35-36. Perhaps Father MacRae will be able, God willing, to continue his call in Jail, helping many troubled souls to regain their dignity and ultimately eternal life.

The Church’s policies, adopted after 2002, have indeed made the real world “a safer place for our children”. Other organizations, like your church, are way behind. But reckoning is coming, for them and yours as well.

“…for all you catholics blaming the bishops for the poor way they handled priest's cases…” = actually, we Catholics put blame where blame is due, on ourselves as well. You, on the other hand, put it everywhere but on yourself (Julie, once again, is correct).

“…don't forget that they are your own leaders” = correct. And as such, will be judged more strictly (James 3:1). Incidentally, by Jesus, not by you.

“This is easier than shooting dead fish in a barrel” = now, why would you shoot yourself? How silly.

Have a blessed day, non-Christian brother.

    • Dan says:

May I be perfectly clear in stating that I have no desire to see anyone punished by false accusations. I myself took several plea deals rather than fight your Church full of blatantly lying leaders. Fr. Gordon Macrae seemed surrounded by other priests committing lewd acts, indecent exposure and child molesting. He may have been wrongly accused of the crimes in which he was incarcerated. I've read some of his material and letters sent back and forth between him and his bishop. I wouldn't say that he is a completely innocent priest either. I sure wouldn't take the word of the Servants of the Paraclete denying doctor and psychiatric authorities assessments regarding his sexual tendencies. Sometimes justice can be unjust though. This is the very reason why I wait for the Lord's final justice. I firmly believe he will be just.

    • Dan says:

I'm a sinner and have made many mistakes in my life. In regards to the incidents involving your lying Church hierarchy and thugs, the only blame I can take was trying to convince brainwashed hard-headed idolaters, like yourself, that there is Biblical Truth which is not being followed by their false religion.

Looking forward to the day of "reckoning", when all false religions shall be judged, and the disgusting sexually immoral hypocrites hiding behind the cross of Christ shall be exposed for the phonies they truly are. We are not stupid, for we know that your bishops are taught to divuldge only the names of dead priests and those they're fine with throwing under the bus. They do all they can to fight Statutes of Limitations and delay court cases hoping their guilty will die so they can claim they can't defend themselves. Others they send into hiding for penance and prayer, where they are hidden from authorities and away from the watchful eye of the public.

They have not done a great job since 2002, as you wish to claim. They are still trying to handle cases in house, when caught seem to control or bribe authorities to see things their way, and a vatican that seems hell-bent on protecting and coddling those they love, even when they are perverted sickos. McCarrick for example, though there are many more.

Strange how you think I can't judge what is obvious,  but you think it's fine that you can judge me, my anti-"Christian brother". Looking forward to the Judgment Day of Jesus Christ and our Just God, the One above all false gods and goddesses.  servant of the Lord

    • Dan says:

Should be, They do all they can to fight to keep Statute of Limitations laws …

    • Dan says:

"It is not good to be partial to the wicked and so deprive the innocent of justice." Proverbs 18:5

"Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent - the Lord detests them both." Proverbs 17:15

"Woe to those who are heros in drinking wine, and champions in mixing beer, who aquit the guilty for a bribe, and deprive the innocent of justice."  Isaiah 5:22-23

How did the Lord God know your Church before it even came into existence. Because He is the Almighty and "even the hairs on your head have all been counted" and He knows your every thought before you even think it. Come out into the light, catholics, and run clear of this Church before it takes you down with them.

    • LLC says:

      Dan,

“I'm a sinner…” = no need to boast; everyone is. Well, except for Jesus (by His own power) and Mary (by God’s grace), according to Scriptures.

“In regards to the incidents… [] …false religion” = and again, you are talking about yourself. For once, can you actually stick to the post’ topic? This anecdotical story of yours, even if it were true, it only proves your hypocrisy, since your innocence should be believed simply upon your own word, whereas when a priest is accused, he should be immediately put in jail until investigation is completed.

“We are not stupid” = promptly denied by the following statements (and again with the “we”, brother?)

“…we know that your bishops are taught to divulge only the names of dead priests and those they're fine with throwing under the bus” = aside from the asinine comment, what you are saying here is that the bishops are divulging the names of the priests who are involved, and they are usually old, retired or already deceased, in which case, given the amount of time passed, asserting the truth is almost impossible. The ones and are actually convicted are correctly defrocked and reported to the authorities, (and not “thrown under the bus”).

“They do all they can to fight Statutes of Limitations and delay court cases hoping their guilty will die so they can claim they can't defend themselves” = another asinine statement. Statutes of Limitations are instituted for a reason. You may be upset (or even outraged) by them, but the law doesn’t work according to your whims (fortunately). This is an interesting scenario: after the SoL for your alleged crime has passed, another witness says that you indeed approached children inappropriately. What then? Are you ok with your case being reopened and you (possibly) going to jail again?

“Others they send into hiding for penance and prayer, where they are hidden from authorities and away from the watchful eye of the public” = interesting concept: the “watchful eye of the public”. You spend way too much time on the Net. Aside from the fact that there’s no such thing, the individuals who accused you could be considered as such.

“They have not done a great job since 2002, as you wish to claim” = perfect job? Not at all. Good job, absolutely. Can it be improved? Definitely. Let’s see when you church will finally wake up and tackle its own internal issues. Perhaps, by then, the SoL will have passed as well.

Have a blessed week, and stay safe in burning California, non-Christian brother.

    • Dan says:

Nice try, Anti-Christian, attempting to make me look as bad or worse than the pedophiles and perverts of your church. Problem was that my trials were caused by the blatant lies of priests, nuns, catholic cops and thugs. Phonies parading themselves as holy people, the worst examples of religious hypocrisy.

I have no problem with dropping SoL's or any fear of being falsely accused again by the liars of your cult. For three years I've stayed clear of your Temples of Idolatry and have no desire to go near them ever again. God has sent me to look for and help the lost, and to leave the blind who think they have found Him in their own self-made darkness.   servant

P.S. Why do you think I've wasted my time dealing with you catholics through this forum? I can spread the Word without worry of the same consequences I suffered from your fellow catholic lying hypocrites. U Can't Touch This! – Crazy Frog – HaHaHa!

    • Dan says:

By the way, Real Christians have no fear of fire, not here or eternally. You might want to check out the story of Daniel's three friends. They wouldn't bow to the kings statue, as anyone with common sense wouldn't bow to any of yours. I do agree with Ryan, "that the common sense of the hierarchy is long gone." Sad to see some of the sheep following right along with 'em.

    • LLC says:

      Dan,

Thank you for adding another title to the litany of your self-assigned labels. Although, calling yourself a crazy frog would constitute an insult to frogs. Unless you only mean crazy (who knows, you may be of French descent), in which case I completely agree. Your post, in a court of Law, would be what’s called “Exhibit No. 1”.

Interesting taste in music, by the way. Perhaps your accusers were not completely off (Julie, how right you are!).

As for Daniel’s three friends, they actually stood up to the king, didn’t take a plea bargain.

Incidentally, when you want to comment on the topic of this post, I’ll be more than happy to engage in the conversation. Until then, have a blessed day, non-Christian brother. Do not inhale too much smoke (from the fires or otherwise).

    • Dan says:

More stupidity not worth my time responding to.

  2. peoples clown says:

The Bolshevik entity in the world, and especially in the U.S. have done their drum beating unbalanced,  mentally ill , greedy , and narrow minded destruction of the Catholic church, and priests like Rev. Gordon MacRae. Economically, the church has given out over 3 billion in america. Maybe the cash cow is over, maybe not. Hopefully, justice will prevail for  Rev MacRae, and he can sue them justly, for what they did to him!

I've been reading of certain cases, in other religions, that have been abuse convicted, yet have been "censored" generally, from the media. They are probably trying to protect their money, as they are not catholic, and, thus, are not "media bait".

  3. Julie says:

Dan, Accusation is a form of confession.

    • Dan says:

That's all you got? You may be right? My "accusation is a form confession", acknowledging the crimes and sins of your false perverted church. Ephesians 5:11   servant of the Lord

P.S. Maybe try something different so I can answer with more of a response and cost you more of your money and you can have more to brag about your generous giving.

  4. Julie says:

Dan, OK. I'll pick out your longest comment on this post and give a dollar per to the church. It is a great way to glorify Christ and help His church. God bless you, Dan. :)
