News Blackout as Rhode Island Teachers Lobby To Keep Sex With Students Legal

Rhode Island

Rhode Island

Where's the outrage? It seems simple enough: Rhode Island House Bill 5817 states that it should be an actual crime if a teacher has sex with a student under the age of 18. As it stands now in the Ocean State, that is not the case.

But apparently the teachers' union in Rhode Island does not like being "singled out," and the ACLU, who is supporting the teachers, is saying, "While one may disagree whether this type of 'Romeo and Juliet' conduct is appropriate … it should not be a felony." Uh-huh.

When the Catholic Church has rightfully objected to states singling out the Church and creating "window legislation" to allow individuals to sue over alleged abuse many decades ago by dead priests, the national media has repeatedly blasted the Church for doing so. Yet this latest eye-opener out of Rhode Island has barely raised a peep.

Double standard? Absolutely.

And one last thing: If Rhode Island legislators were smart, they would have simply added the word "priest" to the bill. Then it would have passed with flying colors.

So much for caring about the children! If there's not money to be made, then the ACLU is ready to cut some slack! There are many instances of this double standard, like the article in the new yorker magazine. Seems like they neglect every other instance of what should be investigated, since they won't be trying to sue these other institutions. After all, they've gotten billions already from the u.s. church. Its the sure thing! They definitely are trying to destroy the church!

'Peoples Clown', on April 14th, says that… "they definitely are trying to destroy the church".  Well… am getting the same impression. The Catholic Church is being subjected to 'trial by media', whilst many other institutions are given a free pass. The forces pitted against us will not destroy the Church, but it will weed out the lukewarm and confused.  For myself  these forces have changed  my personal philosophy, Because they have made me realize that the devil is actually very real… and not just something we invented to scare people.

"Part of the physiognomy of the Revolution of '68 was that pedophilia was then also diagnosed as allowed and appropriate." Quoted from Ratzinger's 6,000 word letter.

Was this based on the beliefs of Catholic psychiatrists or decisions of the pope and bishops? Who would ever think that pedophilia should be "allowed" or could even be considered "appropriate"? How can this so-called Holy True Church compare itself to secular society and it's norms? This is utterly ridiculous! And how many teachers, Boy Scout leaders, medical staff perverts and other members of society are also practicing catholics or even your Church's priests?

You Catholics have to read the book of 1 John, at the end of the Bible, to find what kind of life you're to lead and how God thinks about sinning and continuing in your sin. The ex-pope gave nothing but more excuses for the horrific pedophilia in your Church. Their was little care, apology or mention of victims, and more protection of the accused and regard for the Faith. He even made excuses for himself and the CDF. Disgusting!

In conclusion, religious organizations can never compare themselves to secular society and what the world's sinners do. The Church acted worse than secular society. You're comparing and judging child molesters of 14 to 16 and up consenting teens with your priests and bishops pedophilia and pederasty of little girls or 80% percent young boys and believe that should be done with the same scrutiny. Are you holier-than-thou people crazy or nuts or both?

    • LLC says:

      Dan,

This is not a competition (if it were, you’d inevitably get crushed), but if the 20 words of Pontiff Emeritus Benedict XVI quote outclass the 233 of your current rant, a simple linear proportion shows that his epistula alone would require from you a staggering 69,900 words for a hypothetical answer. Please, don’t.

“This is utterly ridiculous!” = for once, I agree wholeheartedly. Your post, in its entirety, is ridiculous, off topic and, frankly, an indication of deep issues.

“In conclusion” = one can only hope…

“You're comparing and judging child molesters of 14 to 16 and up consenting teens with your priests and bishops pedophilia and pederasty of little girls or 80% percent young boys and believe that should be done with the same scrutiny” = this is the only part of your rant that addresses the current topic, hence it warrants a comment. Had you read the post, you’d seen that TMR’s objection is not on the piece of legislation per se, but on its “window legislation” limitation, and how the Media is silent on the objections raised by the Teachers’ Union and the UCLU on teachers and school employees being singled out by this legislation. Therefore, once again, you have understood nothing about the topic of the post, or chosen to ignore it. And, as usual, you’ve been hoisted by your own petard.

I seriously doubt that I would be "crushed" by pedophile excusing ex-cardinal Rat-zinger*, any more than I could be "crushed" by any ignorance or nonsense you have to add to the conversation. To state that "pedophilia was then also diagnosed as allowed and acceptable", apparently agreed to by the Rat-zinger, is "utterly ridiculous", especially coming from a religious leader, supposedly knowledgeable of Biblical truths.

So what about "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." Why you Catholics think you can go around pointing fingers at everyone else, for the very problems plaguing your own Church, when your faults are even worse, is beyond me. Or as you quoted, John 8:7, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." The very stones of your glorious idol-worshiping temples, may be the ones that will fall upon your own heads.

And to comment on your last paragraph and for peoples clown also, I'm all for a bill that would protect all minors, in every school, religious order, business or home, nationwide. No "double standards" and jail time for any criminal who thinks it's alright to sexually touch, abuse or harm innocent children. Your Church, which has hidden from authorities it's pedophiles and pederasts, has absolutely no right to get a reprieve as it has in the past. Pay the piper and quit blaming the media for exposing the crimes that your Church has secretly hidden from the public for decades.

    • LLC says:

      Dan,

"I'm all for a bill that would protect all minors, in every school, religious order, business or home, nationwide" = hence, once again, you have understood nothing, therefore goodbye. Ah, one last thing. Your not-so-veiled allusions to the tragedy of Notre Dame de Paris are, well, pathetic and pitiful, albeit completely in line with your character.

    • Dan says:

So join in and sing your Ave Marias to your "Queen of Heaven", when you should be on your knees praying to the Father for forgiveness for you and your perverted Church. Hasta la vista and good riddance, brother, but I'm afraid I haven't heard the last of you. servant of the One and Only Almighty God and Father

    • Dan says:

AD - As far as Notre Dame goes, I'm glad there was no loss of life, but would have been happier if there was more loss of your idols you heathens worship. Maybe then you would understand that all the icons and statues you worship and adore, can't even run away and save themselves. Why should you place such a value on worthless things and bow down to your false gods and goddesses? Wake up Catholics while you still have a chance to change and repent from your idolatry. LLC, Do you understand that?

Dan corner – "the ex-pope gave nothing but more excuses for the horrific pedophilia in your Church" = Dan corners "blinders" and "tunnel vision" ! Satan affects all with sin, if you are not "en garde"! Even you! Obviously, as always, you don't include other religions, or denominations, in your screed! Things that are happening now fall by your wayside. Its appalling that you seem to ignore what's happening in RI. Its scary! I'm glad I'm not in your church! Agur, nire anaia Dan corner!

    • Dan says:

Hopefully, for the last time. I hate pedophilia or pederasty that occurs in your Church, so-called christian churches, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Buddhist or Hindu, Jewish synagogues, Muslim mosques, etc.etc.etc. Do you understand that yet? I hate the idolatrous, hypocrisies, Jesus crucifying, greedy, self-righteous teachings of all phony religions and cults. I do not hate their dumb sheep. Did you read any of 1 John chapter 1-5?

"No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God." 1 John 3:9

Just the fact that clergy pedophiles and pederasts harmed innocent children and were sent to other churches, orphanages or schools by your bishops without informing those new locations, so they could continue to molest children, is absolute proof that your Church is led by habitual sinners who were never "born of God" to begin with. Satan's children deceiving others while being themselves deceived.

P.S. Clown, You should stop trying to emulate others like LLC or Publiar, because you are really bad at it. Try being your own person and think for yourself, if that's at all possible. And please speak english, 'cause I have no clue to half what you're saying even when you do.

    • peoples clown says:

My brothers in Christ, LLC and Malcolm, are so smart! We are all in this together, so I'll work with them, until I'm not "bad at it". Just thought I'd be nice to you, and say " goodbye, brother Dan corner!" , in the basque language. Maybe you understand that better, but guess not!

Dan Corner, Your comment beginning "Part of the Physiognomy" is 254 words. I put an actual $254 into the collection plate. Our church ministry thanks you. My wallet does not lol.
